Two days ago, while working my way thru comments, I was stunned to see this one:

I met Rob a while ago and got to know him fairly well. I don’t believe at all that he is guilty but once again it seems that if the media says someone is guilty, well then they must be. Never mind the fact that once one charge was filed ,a CIVIL MONETARY LAWSUIT enused and the lawyer handling the civil lawsuit publicly solicited others to join the suit in pursuit of cold hard cash. Never mind the fact that police officers make great targets for people with grudges and someone who was accused once would make a real easy target to accuse again and have people belive it. Far be it for people to learn the FACTS before they spout off at mouth and condemn another. If you’re not from the area, don’t know the enitrety of the case, and are not in posession of the facts, how can you know if someone is guilty or not. There is alot more to this case than what the almighty News media tells you. Things they don’t print because it might actually make you think the guy was innocent and that wouldn’t make for a very good story. Watch your judgements. No matter how self righteous and wonderful you think you are, it could be you getting judged be an ill informed group someday.  Jan 22, 10:33 PM

Yeah, yeah.  Innocent until proven guilty.  Works fine in the court of law, but the court of public opinion is not bound by the same strictures.  Afterall, our personal opinions do not result in criminal convictions with 20-year prison terms attached.

The comment was delivered two days ago.

Yesterday, 13 teenaged girls testified during a 6-hour probable cause hearing in the Juniata County courthouse that former police officer Robert Pavlovich, Jr., – fired in November by the Marysville, Perry County, boro for which he had worked – had sexually abused them since at least 2003.

13 girls!!!  Holy crap.  What the hell is the matter with that jerk who was supposed to be a police officer charged with serving and protecting??  He’s supposed to be protecting girls from the child molesters instead of doing things that resulted in him being criminally charged with, among other things, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse.  Rape by any other name smells just as rotten.

Pavlovich’s attorney, Richard Wagner, “suggested” that three civil lawsuits filed against Marysville by three of the alleged victims’ families was the motivation behind the testimony against his client.  Those lawsuits allege the Boro knew or had reason to know that Pavlovich was having inappropriate contact with underaged kids, but did little to protect the children from the police officer.

Wagner’s “suggestion” fell on empty ears.  The judge ruled there was enough evidence to send the disgraced former cop to trial on a variety of sexually-related charges.  Pavlovich has been free on $250,000 bail.  His listed address is just down the road from the Lower Allen Middle School, Trinity High School and an elementary school.  (Something about his bail conditions appear out of wack.)

The crazy – perhaps ironic - thing about the comment left for me, above, is what it ”suggests” is the motivating factor for the alleged victims to testify against the accused child molester.  That comment came the day before yesterday’s hearing!!  Fortunately for society, the judge hearing and examining the evidence is not motivated by “cold hard cash.”  Nor was her ruling based on media reports about the allegations.

And so, the alleged pedophile cop Pavlovich will go to trial.  That is unless he does the right thing and pleads out to lesser charges.  Life for him in prison will be tough enough, approximate error; why not tell your lecherous buddy to be smart and cut a few years off his sentence?  That is, unless approximate error works for the attorney or is, indeed, Robert Pavlovich, Jr.

Would not be the first time one of these dorks visited my blog.  See, for instance, my posts on Nathan Jones.
