“FARMINGTON — A manhunt for an escaped fugitive has spread to the Farmington area.
Police said Anthony Flye, 38, escaped from custody March 25 in New Bedford, Mass., and has ties to the area. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his capture. Flye faces charges of gross sexual assault involving a minor, assault and battery, and indecent exposure.
Which all occurred in 2006. He also now faces the felony charge of escape, said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson.
Flye’s criminal history includes convictions for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and carjacking. He was being held on $500,000 bail on the current rape charges at the time of his escape. [but they only offer $5,000 for info leading to an arrest?]
Police said on March 25, after a judge denied Flye’s request for a reduction of bail, he jumped, while shackled, head-first from a second floor railing in the Bristol County Courthouse.
He was captured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in the leap but escaped by climbing out a men’s room window, officials said. [ah, the old I-gotta-go-pee escape routine; good thing the deputy sheriff's were prepared for that one!]
Hodgson said Flye is considered dangerous. [any man who dives head-first over the railing should also be considered psychotic.]
“Anyone who goes to the extreme of jumping over a 2nd floor railing, head first, in an effort to escape, is determined not to be brought to justice,” Hodgson said. “If anyone has any information, please be careful and call your local police.” [great opinion, Mr. Sheriff, but if he's this dangerous why was he not properly supervised in the bathroom? or why did you not station a deputy on the outside of that bathroom window thru which he escaped?? ddduuuuhhhh !!]
Flye worked as a construction foreman for a Nantucket contractor who is originally from Farmington and who owns two homes in Farmington and Industry. The contractor was in the courthouse at the time of the attempted escape, Hodgson said.
“We don’t know if he was there to post bail or to provide support for the suspect,” Hodgson said. [and thanks to either you or the reporter, no one knows who that contractor is.]
Flye had visited the contractor in Farmington several times within the past two years and police believe he could be back here and being shielded by friends, police said.
Investigators from the South Anti-Crime Team flew into Maine Sunday night to look for Flye. Franklin County sheriff’s Detective Tom White and Franklin County Detective David St. Laurent spent Sunday and Monday with the team interviewing local people who know Flye.
White said that among those interviewed were Flye’s former employer and crew who had driven up to Farmington for the weekend to go snowmobiling. [and these people are who? they got names?]
Flye will be one of the featured fugitives on America’s Most Wanted show to be aired on Fox TV at 9 p.m. Saturday, Hodgson said.

I am part of the extended family of the victims of this monster. The contracter is known as J.D. Bessy. I was present in court the day Flye jumped from the stairs. Flye was in chains and landed on his head and shoulders. The court personel put in a 911 call. It was a very messy sien, we were ordered out of the building after yelling at Flye, “I hope you die you peice of shit”. Another man from Maine that is helping Flye is known as “Das” forty something with dark brown hair in long dread lockes and a full long beard. These two ass holes tried to hide Flye’s truck and did hide his lap top. They in fact called the police on us as we tried to leave Nantucket with the truck. The police did let us leave and did prevent me from kicking the shit out of that dread locked bitch Das as I rushed his ass [serious pussy]. Help the family please!

But what I do know is that the contractor he worked for has done nothing wrong to you or anyone else for that matter. Leave them alone. healing takes years and sometimes victims never heal and carry the scarswith them for the rest of their lives. you have no idea what the victims have been through. when people give support to a preditor that is like telling the victims you don’t believe them in the pysch world it is referred to as the second rape or violation. no one is trying to profit from this. people are just trying tosurvive. i don’t think you can say any one is gaining anything when they are losing everything. lives have been devistated here and outsiders who don’t know what they are talking about should keep their ignorant comments to themselves. Laura and JD Bessey. They are not, nor have they ever been nice people. They have screwed employees out of pay and stabbed friends and employees over for years, even when JD had a construction business in Maine and could barely afford groceries. In fact, JD has a son from another woman that he was seeing at the same time he was seeing Laura. They drug her through the mud. Laura wanted custody so they would not have to pay child support, once they became big time on Nantucket. Ask where the child is now ?? Thankfully with his Grandparents in Maine, because of Laura’s drinking problem.
They have stolen and lied for years to get ahead and the fact that they would harbor a fugitive, is no suprise to me.

laura and jd bessey, are not only nice people, but over acheiving and would do anything to help out a friend or companion. they do so much for every one of their workers including wonderful pays, housing, and always keeping the door open for whoever wants to spend a little more time with them. jd’s son was taken away from his mother and brought to nantucket for a safer and better place to grow up out of the kindness of both of jd’s and lauras hearts. after trying to shape tanner up they did not give up but thought living with his grandeparents where he was happier was a better idea. for what people say that laura has a drinking problem is none of anyone business, is she wants to party everynight, then she can! whoever says she has a problem is just jelous because they dont have the time or money to have fun like she does! jd is one of funniest guys anyone would know.he supports two kids and acts as the best dad anyone could ask for. hes loving and works his butt off to run one of the most popular construction busnesses on the island! so to everyone who has something else to say about them, should read this and think again.

The Bessey’s are very familiar with who does and does not like them, and have been confronted, by friends and family alike.
They know exactly where they stand. The only comments made by me, were in response to the ones started by other people, I was only one person relaying my opinion of the Bessey’s. Amazing how, only a couple of people wish to defend them. The blogs on several sites have been the same.
When you burn bridges and then something like the Flye incident happens; people judge you based on thier past experiences when they hear and see you defend someone like him, and contribute money to his cause.

The important issue is Tony is back where he belongs behind bars. Hopefully they can keep his there this time. He had 15 guard this time not 1. The question now is how did he get all the cash he had on him and who helped with the hiding and the new shoes and clothes. Rest assured this is all being looked into very closely. I don’t know Tony personally, only through hearing the support he garnered from a couple of people on Nantucket that believe he is innocent. If he does talk, I am like you…I would like to know what sort of tune he will warble ? Hopefully he does, and that will put an end to the guessing game.
