Don’t ask me why this appears on the oregon site instead of the idaho site but how could someone picked as a VP candidate be so unremarkable in college as to be unremembered by people in her own department? Obama is remembered at both Columbia and Harvard Law School, sometimes with really funny stories. But not Sarah Palin. Am I the only one who thinks that’s a bit odd?

Hail Sarah, Sarah
The future’s not ours to be
McCain can clearly not see
Hail Sarah, Sarah
UPDATE: for a reasonably good rundown on where and when Palin attended college, see Paulette’s site at http://letustalk.wordpress.com

thanks for your coverage! I’m both entertained and enlightened.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m inclined to believe that “shy studious” types graduate from their original college within the alotted time frame, i.e., 4 years. Instead, she started out at a school not known for its exacting scholarship, transferred to an even less lofty school and then bounced for a few courses to UofI.
On the plus side, she’s at least as scholarly as McCain. Fortunately for McCain, his old man and his family’s legacy helped him with the heavy lifting. I pity the guy who lost out on the chance to get into the Naval Academy because McCain’s family connections got him in instead of the more qualified candidate. Frankly, reminds me of my own personal experience. I hope the guy who took my spot flunked out.

John Sidney McCain
There was an old man named John Sidney McCain
Who wanted the presidency, more than he could explain
He says he knows little about jobs and money
To the unemployed that’s really not funny
He said middle class folk earn five million or more
Seven houses are fine who can live in four?
He is stuck in the past and has no help for the poor
But they should be glad to be stuck in his war
He gives tax breaks to the big and the few
Who return the favor and contribute too
John Sidney McCain is Seventy Two
He’s as old as the hills, but held together with glue
He denies there a problem with our whether today
Says Katrina was handled in a really great way
He says the recession is mind over matter
He doesn’t mind and the people don’t matter
He voted to start a war with Iraq (Eye Rack)
He doesn’t care how our GI’s come back
He cut the funding for military care
It doesn’t matter to him, he’s not out there
He may become a sitting president one day
Who allows his VP to have a great say
He picked a VP from the State way up thered (in the North)
And proved to the country he’s reason impaired
She’s never traveled except only once
Some say that she’s really, really a dunce
She’s happy to see the demise of the bear
There must be more oil somewhere out there!
Abortions a sin, but a pre emptive war is ok
Both kill the innocents just in a different way
She condones torture, detention without trial
And Habeas Corpus has been thrown on the pile
This is the person who will run its insane
One heartbeat away from John Sidney McCain

I may just turn your poem into its own blog entry. If you provide your blog URL, I’ll happily include that, too.

Her son Track is going to Iraq because he got caught at the age of 16 for getting drunk and trashing a bunch of school buses. He plea bargained for military duty instead of incarceration.
Soooo, she must have gone to University of Idaho, where the school’s teams are called the VANDALS.

I current student of the U of I and have lived in Moscow my entire life. This is the first I am hearing she attended the U of I it seems that people around here either don’t remember her or are too embarrassed to admit it! To boil it down no one around here is talking about it!

Read the latest from the Spokane Inlander Magazine or on NoHostBar, 15 minutes of fame. Interesting perspective from one of the few classmates that actually remember having a class w/Ms. Palin.
